WebGrid 3.2.1 is released and you can find the changes here WebGrid RoadMap

In this version there has been some quite big changes going on, and specially with WebGrid licensing.
I have now created a WebGrid Developer Suite license.

The reason for this is quite simple. I must have some income on this project if it's to continue.

All users that has a none-expired WebGrid Support Account will still continue get updates during this period.

A new release of WebGrid is available from http://www.webgrid.com

Following changes are:

Grid object:

'Datasource' property will now trigger warning as obsolete, and new recommended property is 'DatasourceID'
'SearchBoxPosition' property will now trigger warning as obsolete, and new recommended property is 'DisplayGridSearchBox'

'SQL' property is now public available, use this to write your own sql statements for WebGrid.

'Sentences' property collection is now public available, use this to customize system texts found in WebGrid.

Fixed a bug that crashed 'MasterGrid' property when used inside a usercontrol.

All columns:

'Width' property will now trigger warning as obsolete, and new recommended property is 'WidthEditableColumn'
'Height' property will now trigger warning as obsolete, and new recommended property is 'HeightEditableColumn'
'ExternalDataSource' property is renamed as 'DataSourceID'.

Two additional properties for width behaviour is added: 'WidthColumnHeaderTitle' and 'WidthColumnTitle'

'WidthColumnHeaderTitle' property is automatically set in grid mode if 'WidthColumnHeaderTitle'is undefined and grid width is not percentage.

Foreignkey column object:

Better error handling for foreignkeys.

File object:

Made FileNameColumn == columnID if IsInDataSource == false and FileNameColumn is undefined.

Beta testers needed for WebGrid e-shop solution

I am about to release the first spin-off product for WebGrid. This is a ready-to-use e-shop solution that can be easily configured and inherits features of the datagrid.

The standard shopping solution is a clothing e-shop that is shipped with several products in the database.

Main features of the e-shop solution is:

Configurable product presentations foreach category.
Unlimited product properties set by category.
Inherits WebGrid datagrid features and makes it extremly flexible for customization.
Configurable system messages editable through a browser-friendly WYSIWYG editor.
Complete administration system for products, orders, categories and much more.
Configurable themes for themes ( cascading style sheet )
Integration to 3rd party online-solution.
The e-shop solution generates xhtml 1.1 html strict valid code.

The beta version is to be released 1st August.

Minor WebGrid update

A minor webgrid update has been released with following changes

Rearranged debug information and added theme support
The system messages for WebGrid is now embedded resources and is default loaded if no system message xml file is found.
Various small optimizations for better performance.

A Minor upgrade was released with following changes

Better use of CSS in tabbed slavegrids for mastergrid
Slavegrid inherits theme /system language / navigation style from mastergrid if undefiend.
Properties MenuActiveColor & MenuInactiveColor may now be used for tabbed slavegrid menu
Better browser support (Safari fix) for WYSIWYG editor.
